What photo gear do you use for your pics and what do you do/use for post processing? I know that some out there are using some really nice gear to capture the images that are posted here. Sorry not really looking for camera phones here either maybe in another post for for those.
My gear:
Nikon D800e, lenses 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6, 105mm F/2.8, 85mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4, 14-24mm f/2.8, 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6, 70-200mm f/2.8
Software:
Lightroom and Photoshop for post processing.
That is some sweet glass Robin.
I have a older Canon point & shoot but for the better pics I use a Canon 60D with an 18-200 f3.5-f5.6 where possible. For simple cropping I use Paint and windows 10 resizer. I also found that app Paint.net that came with windows 10 does a pretty good job of fixing exposure issues.
Olympus evolt. Kit lenses. No post straight out of the camera.
Hubby used to use an Old Canon 10D with a 50mm lens, but it was just too bulky to carry around. A lot of our shots are not pre-planned and taken when we suddenly have the beach to ourselves. We moved from the Canon to an Olympus PEN EPM a few years ago for something compact that cold fit in my purse, but with good picture quality and interchangeable lenses. While not quite as good as the full body Canons, we have been pleased with the results. Hubby uses a cheap version of PS Elements for lighting filters for the sunset shots.
we have a Canon t4i and use a 18-55 mm
This isn't about pro versus amatuer, or at least that was not the intent. It is all about what do you use to get your pics? And do you do anything with them afterwards or just post them. I had assumed from the images that I see on here and on MS that those taking the pics are in all ranges of cameras, I was just curious about what was here. Now if someone wants to create either a group or forum topic for C&C with the spirit of improving what we do for the more competitive types that might be fun, but I think most here are more interested in being out and having fun and grabbing a few quickes to post and share. Like A D said, this is for fun or private use here so who cares we are here to have fun!
Our kit:
Canon 5D MkIII
16-35 f/4 IS L
24-104 f/4 IS L
70-200 f/2.8 IS L
100-400 f/4.5-5.6 Mk II IS L
50 f/1.4
28 f/1.8
580 ex
For processing we use Lightroom 5 and PSE 14.
canon 6d at the moment, also a fuji x100s. Both are great cameras. The x100s is a great lightweight semi pro camera that isn't too expensive and doesn't scream photographer when we whip it out. We are hoping to get a canon 5d mk111 when we get the money. We also have a nikon AW1 for underwater shots- its a great all round camera

The price of the 5D mk3 has been coming down. I expect it will come down more when the Mk 4 is announced/available.

Thanks Patrick, I should have said we have a 7d. It is a really good camera, but hubby really wants the 5d mk 3 if we can save the money. But the 7d will remain as a backup. Canon today told us that our daughters original 5d mk 1 will no longer be serviceable as canon is no longer stocking any parts for them. Makes us a bit nervous paying so much for a 5d mk 3 if the same thing will happen in a few years time
I've used both Nikon and Canon DSLR's and currently am using Canon. I've always used Sigma lenses with both my Nikon and canon DSLRs.
I agree with Robin. You can do a lot with knowledge. It also kept me from making the full digital leap.
I am Old school. I love pushing film to its max. I started out when I was 8 yr old with 120 bellows. I still have it and every other camera I have used except for the East German made Praktica LTL with 42mm screw mount lenses. Sold it to buy a OM1 and lovely bayonet lenses while on R/R in Japan.
I have had several entry digital cameras. Only after we found a one gallon zip-lock bag full of exposed 35mm. A >$200 bill from RGB later, I had hundreds cow w/ newborn calf documentation photos and a directive of no more motor-drive use on cow/calf’s and to just get a digital for ranch use.
The Olympus 5050 was great. Full of control, compact for discreet shooting, multiple memory options. But after years of use at BRC and even sending to be factory cleaned twice, it’s still has dust issues.
With that said, after we decided to post here, and with P's enjoyment of the shoots, I am compelled to make the transition to DSLR. The iPhone does not cut it.
I have been watching the market for some time. With resolution rivaling film and lens selection it's time.
I will not put my Olympus OM's and Nikon F's away. Will save them for my "real" photos.

Anna.
Please don't feel any thing but proud.
Your photos are great !
I used P's iPnone 6s becouse that is what we had the moment she wanted to shot our Tahoe album.
Remember, the camera you have with you will be the one that gets the picture.
I have taken many pictures with my iPhone's over the years and I must say that they are capable of some great shots, just take the time to think about what you are doing and what you want and that applies to any camera that you use.
Upgraded to the 5DIV. Awesome.
When it’s time for a planned photo project I rely on an old Canon digital rebel DSLR with an appropriate lens and off camera flash. It is only around 5 megapixels, but since the final image is approx. 1000 pixels longest side viewed on a screen (computer or smartphone) I don’t feel the need to upgrade to a bigger file size device. It would not be adequate for good prints. For candid outdoor shots (beach or pool) I’ll use a small Canon or Sony point and shoot. I installed the “Manual” photo app on my iphone to control ISO and shutter speed, but the image quality is still poor, IMHO, and I find it inconvenient to upload from the phone.
I use an ancient (LOL 2006) digital image editor from Microsoft for post processing. It is much easier (for me) than Adobe’s photoshop. I’m not a good enough photographer to skip cropping, white balancing, noise reduction, etc – so very few images are straight from the camera. I find Flickr to be a good image storage option; makes it easy to find images when I’m away from the original files on the editing computer.
