Social media

I do like this exciting innovation: sharing photo albums in this community!

My question/comment: I saw that everyone can share the photo's on Facebook, Printerest, Twitter... so, the pics and albums can easily be shared outside this community.

I know, on the MS website, the whole world can see the photo's, no privacy. But people have to know the MS website, before they can find them.

Somehow it feels uncomfortable, knowing that the photo's posted here, can be shared very easily and be found outside this community (google searches in Printerest, Facebook and Twitter).

How do you feel about these sharing features?

Is it possible to block the sharing-buttons?

So someone on this site can share another members photo on social media? That doesn't seem good

Prefer not to be able to share of socail media

I don't have a problem with letting those members that want to share their photos using other social media but I DO have a problem with others being able to share my photos.

I just deleted an album when I saw OTHERS could post MY photo's to social media.  That scared me. I do not mind MEMBERS of this site being able to see.

It seems way to easy to share another's photo to another form of social media. Even a mis-click on the Twitter or FB icon when opening the photo could do it. Maybe I'm wrong, but when looking at another member's photo the site is giving you the option to share it, correct?

If that is the case we won't be posting any photos here. Nobody has my permission to share them outside of this site.

Agree Mindy and Brandon, nothing but super vanilla pics will be posted by me with it so easy to post to social media.

This is a major flaw in the site. Hopefully it will be corrected. Obviously pictures could be stolen and shared over the Internet, but why have a link to make it so easy.

I just heard about others being able to post my photos on social media, I don't belong to facebook or any other social media for just that reason. My personal life is mine to share with whome I chose not for someone else to post. The MS community has been like a close friend to me and i'd hate to have to take my photos down because of the threat of having them posted outside our community.

Has anyone made Tor aware of our concerns?

I strongly agree with the rest of the members

I agree that the site should be for members only, and that no one should be able to share pictures posted here on other social media sites without permission...

Thank you so much for all your replies. Looking forward to a reply of Tor...

I had sent a letter to him two days ago.  He responded that the social media links should come down by this Friday.

Oké, the social media buttons are removed from the individual photo albums. Thnx, Tor! But the whole page with photo albums still can be shared on social media (in bar below).... Also the member-page etc...

Let's just keep watching it.  The site is still being worked on.

Looks like we lost 1 member already over this feature that circumvents the members only invitation.

This is what so great about an involved like minded comunity.
